Working With The Wildlife Habitat Council

Since 1990, The Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) has fostered an innovative initiate to unite conservation and business for the purpose of protecting the environment and restoring natural wildlife sanctuaries. We have been involved with WHC for more than a decade, strengthening our dedication to enriching pre-existing wildlife habitats and establishing news ones on various corporate sites.

Working with the Wildlife Habitat Council and Ducks Unlimited, the Bath plant has installed multiple nesting facilities and plants around a pond to support bird, fish, amphibian and mammal species. Areas around the plant grounds were landscaped primarily with native species including more than 26,000 trees planted in 2005, which absorb carbon dioxide helping to reduce greenhouse gas in the atmosphere.

Environmental Awards

The Bath Plant has received several Environmental Awards in recognition of the committment of its employees to environmental stewardship, including: the Lafarge North America Environmental Excellence Award in both 2006 and 2008, and the Portland Cement Association's Overall Environmental Excellence Award in 2010.
