Lafarge's Chicago Aggregates Gives Back to its Community

Chicago, IL

Lafarge North America Inc.

For the third year in a row, Lafarge North America's Chicago Aggregates team gave back to its community last week by volunteering at the local Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB). The team assembled boxes of food which will be delivered to various distribution centers in the Northern Illinois area.

In total, the Lafarge team boxed 3,750 pounds of food, which is equivalent to 291 meals for those in need.

"At Lafarge we feel that giving back to the community in which we operate is just part of doing good business through creating quality building materials, and donating our time to nonprofit organizations," says Sean Hawley, General Manager for Chicago Aggregates. "The Northern Illinois Food Bank is an outstanding non-profit organization that spans 13 counties in the Chicago area. We appreciate the opportunity to work with this organization and give back to Chicago."

NIFB engages the community through volunteer efforts to serve more than 60,000 different people every week.
