Lafarge North America's Denver Metro Paving team recently was awarded the prestigious Diamond Paving Commendation from the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA).

"This award is a tremendous honor for us to receive because it is from our peers and recognizes our employees' efforts. It is a reflection of the contribution we are trying to make to our industry and to our customers through every job we do", said Brenda Shuler, General Manager, Lafarge Denver Metro Paving. "Through our safety program and our environmental commitment, we hope to offer more to our customers - receiving an award like this shows that our efforts are making a difference."

"Earning the Diamond Paving Commendation shows that contractors are committed to excellence in asphalt pavement construction practices through well-trained, well-educated workforces that use best practices," explained Larry H. Lemon, NAPA's Chairman.

The areas evaluated for the award include: quality control, work zone safety practices, site preparation and planning, paver operation, compaction and training. The Denver Metro Paving group used examples of their best practices on jobs such as E-470 Reconstruction, Yale Avenue Reconstruction, and Green Park-N-Ride Lot to illustrate their exemplary work in these categories.
