Lafarge North America Names New Leadership Appointments Within Its River Region Business Unit

Lafarge North America, the largest diversified supplier of construction materials in the United States and Canada, recently announced the appointment of Olivier Biebuyck as President of Cement for its River Business Unit, whose Regional Office is based in Lee's Summit, Missouri.


Biebuyck succeeds Olivier Merindol, who accepted another position with the Lafarge Group in France.


Biebuyck, a native of Brussels, Belgium, has been in the U.S. for more than 10 years and recently became a U.S. citizen. Prior to being appointed President of the Cement River Business Unit, he was President of Systech Environmental Corporation, Lafarge's wholly-owned subsidiary specializing in the sourcing and management of alternative fuels for all Lafarge's cement kilns throughout North America.


In his new role, Biebuyck will be responsible for five of Lafarge's cement plants located in Sugar Creek, MO, Fredonia KS, Tulsa, OK, Joppa, IL and Davenport, IA., and for 38 cement and fly ash terminals. "We are excited to have Olivier lead our team in the River Business Unit," said Sylvain Garnaud, Co-President, Lafarge North America and President of its Cement Division. "He is a strong and dynamic leader who has made significant, positive impacts to the business, while in his previous roles with Lafarge. I look forward to similar successes for him and his team in the River Region."


Additional appointments to the River Region's executive team include:

Teodor Simeonov - newly appointed Director of Finance

Simeonov has been with Lafarge since 2004. He has previously held a number of operational roles within the organization including Logistics Manager in the US East and most recently PMO-Logistics with the Central Distribution Group in Herndon, VA. Simeonov is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Masters in Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and B.A. in Accounting, Furman University in Greenville, SC.


Anthony Corridore - newly appointed Director of Marketing

Corridore has been with Lafarge since 2006. Prior to this new role, he was the Assistant Sales Manager for the Lakes and Seaway Business Unit based out of Southfield, MI. Corridore holds an MBA from Yale University, along with a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
