Throughout this Site, the terms "Lafarge", "the company", "we", "us", "our", "it" and similar terms are sometimes used generically for editorial convenience, and are not meant to refer to a particular legal entity or group of entities. Lafarge offers this website, including any and all information, tools and services which may be available from this Site, to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all the terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.  This Site is meant to be accessed by legal residents of the United States and Canada only.

 

This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use describes the terms and conditions on which Lafarge allows access and use of Lafarge's web site (including any of the services made a part of or available there through) (the "Site", the customer portions of which may also be referred to as "Lafarge Customers Online") and various other web pages and sites operated by Lafarge, as well as explains our cookie policy and online data gathering information practices when you visit any Lafarge website and also sets forth the terms of your use of our websites and data contained therein including information you provide when you become a Registered User and any product purchases you make on or from our Site. Some of the Lafarge web pages on the Site may provide services or features under their own terms and conditions of use and you agree to comply with such terms of use in your use of those services. In the event of a conflict, the additional terms and conditions will govern for those sections or pages. Other Lafarge Group websites may have their own privacy policies and/or terms of use which may be different. By accessing this website you accept all the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. In particular, by submitting your personal date to Lafarge, you will be deemed to have given your permission for use and disclosures referred to herein. FAQ 1 : 1. Registration; Passwords

Registration may be required to access some features that may be available on this Site. When becoming a Registered User, your registration must contain the relevant information in all the required fields indicated on the registration form. You hereby warrant that all information on your registration is true, accurate, complete and up-to-date and you agree to make any changes necessary to your profile on Lafarge Customers Online to ensure such information is true, accurate, complete and up-to-date at all times. If registering for access to Lafarge Customers Online, Lafarge shall be permitted, without limitation, to rely on any signed statement, whether sent or received by fax,  electronically or otherwise, which states that you are an authorized representative of a Lafarge customer as your appointment by such company as a representative thereof, thus permitting you to act as a representative of company in obtaining access to all services provided by Lafarge through Lafarge Customers Online, including but not limited to the ability to access statements, invoices, and pricing. As a primary account holder under Lafarge Customers Online, you are solely responsible for granting and revoking access for other people within your company; Lafarge will not be held responsible for access to Lafarge Customers Online granted incorrectly to a third-party user.   Lafarge reserves the right, acting in our sole discretion, to accept, reject or modify your registration of Lafarge Customers Online. Some features on this Site require use of a password. You are responsible for protecting your password. You agree that you will be responsible for any and all statements made, and acts or omissions that occur, through the use of your password. If you have any reason to believe or become aware of any loss, theft or unauthorized use of your password, notify Lafarge immediately. Lafarge may assume that any communications Lafarge receives under your password have been made by you unless Lafarge receives notice otherwise. Lafarge reserves the right to refuse or cancel any person's registration for this Site, remove any person from this site or prohibit any person from using this Site for any reason whatsoever at any time without notice. Termination of your access or use will not waive or affect any other right or relief to which Lafarge may be entitled at law or in equity.

 


FAQ 2 : 2. Security on the Web; Access Codes

We protect information you provide us online in several ways. We use encryption standards and 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to help ensure that confidential information that passes to and from Lafarge cannot be intercepted by third parties. User Ids and Passwords or other user codes which you need to access the site (together, the "Access Codes") are used to help safeguard access to your information through the web. We strongly encourage you to assist us in that effort by not sharing your Lafarge User Id or Password with anyone. If you have any reason to believe or become aware of any loss, theft or unauthorized use of your password, notify Lafarge immediately. Lafarge will assume that any communications Lafarge receives under your Access Codes have been made by you, unless Lafarge receives notice otherwise. AS A REGISTERED USER, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO MAINTAIN THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF YOUR USER ID ACCESS CODES. YOU AUTHORIZE LAFARGE TO ACT ON INSTRUCTIONS RECEIVED UNDER YOUR ACCESS CODES WITHOUT FURTHER VERIFICATION BY US. YOU SHALL BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ACTIVITIES THAT OCCUR UNDER YOUR ACCESS CODES, WHETHER OR NOT AUTHORIZED BY YOU, INCLUDING STATEMENTS MADE AND ANY AND ALL ACTS OR OMISSIONS THAT OCCUR THROUGH THE USE OF YOUR USERID AND ACCESS CODES. YOU AGREE THAT LAFARGE IS AUTHORIZED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO AND TO ACT UPON THE INSTRUCTIONS OF ANY PARTY THAT PRESENTS YOUR ACCESS CODES AND THAT LAFARGE IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LIABILITY WHICH IS CAUSED BY, OR RELATED TO, USE OF YOUR ACCESS CODES. YOU AGREE TO IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY LAFARGE OF ANY UNAUTHORIZED USE OF YOUR ACCESS CODES, ANY OTHER BREACH OF SECURITY KNOWN TO YOU WITH RESPECT TO EITHER YOUR ACCESS CODES OR TO ANY ACTUAL OR POTENTIAL UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS OF THE SITE THROUGH YOUR ACCESS CODES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT WITH YOU OF ANY PERSON THEN OR PREVIOUSLY IN POSSESSION OF YOUR ACCESS CODES WHICH ARE CURRENT AT THE TIME SUCH EMPLOYMENT TERMINATES. IF YOU DO NOT ACCESS THE SITE FOR 45 CONSECUTIVE DAYS, YOU WILL BE SENT A REMINDER THAT YOUR ACCESS CODES WILL EXPIRE AFTER AN ADDITIONAL 45 DAYS OF INACTIVITY. It is important to remember that regular (non-encrypted) email is not secure.  When using the "Careers" section of our Site, we use a third party service provider, Taleo, to facilitate the submission of resumes and related information.  Once you are logged into the "Careers" section of the Site, you may submit a resume, cover letter and other documents related thereto, provided you have submitted the required login information, including your e-mail address and name.  In addition, other optional information, such as diversity information, may also be gathered if provided, but is not required to be provided. In an effort to ensure that positions being offered by larger companies to the general public are being offered to and pursued by a diverse group of individuals, the government has put in place reporting requirements that mandate that these companies track this information through voluntary questionnaires.  Lafarge reports any voluntarily submitted responses to such questionnaires as part of its Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reporting obligations.  All information gathered by Lafarge pursuant to your use of the Site is kept in Reston, Virginia.

Lafarge may also collect non-personal information about you through "cookies" and "referrers," as well as various browser environment variables such as the IP from which you access the Internet, the time you accessed our website, type of browser and operating system or platform used, the website you left to visit our website(s) and the pages you visit while at our website(s).  A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your hard drive by our server. We are able to read these cookies for information purposes when you revisit our website.  We use cookies information to improve our knowledge of the use of our website and to enable us to be able to ascertain whether the website in operating at optimal level. This allows us to enhance our web offerings to you and to provide an enjoyable and an innovative online experience.
