introduction The maximum depth allowable for a T-Riser is dictated by the strength of the supporting pipe section, which is typically a Class V pipe, though special design (i.e. SIDD) can be accommodated if necessary. Similarly, the bedding and installation procedures for a T-Riser manhole are the same as for a standard piece of concrete pipe. A T-Riser is manufactured using two separate pieces; a concrete pipe and manhole barrel. Each piece is scarred to expose their reinforcement before the pieces are welded together and further reinforced. After the two pieces have been joined, a concrete collar is poured around the reinforcement to create a cold joint. More recent manufacturing processes see the manhole barrel wetcast over the pipe using a specialized “saddle” form.
